A sneaky screen grab (below) captures the moment Patipat Susampow hears that team PODD has won the first Trinity Challenge and scooped over £1m in funding.

PODD – or Participatory One Health Disease Detection – has already equipped 19,000 farmers in Thailand with apps and tools to identify potential cross over diseases between humans and animals. Now they have the resources to grow and scale across multiple countries.

While PODD took the first prize there were many winners, with eight different initiatives winning funding through the Challenge. There was a great diversity in the innovative approaches explored and the geographies represented. Now they get both funding and also support from significant academic and commercial partners from among The Trinity Challenge founder members.
