Travel Publisher Rough Guides was looking to drive interactivity
through its site. As a response Metia created 'A Rough Guide to the
World' - an interactive web service which combines user generated
photos from Flickr with hundreds of existing Rough Guides travel
experiences.
Site visitors were encouraged to add their own geo-located
photos, which were then synched with existing Rough Guides content
- to give a fuller website experience. The site was selected
as a global showcase for HTML 5 and the launch of Windows Internet
Explorer 9.
